Understanding the Liberal Mind

Because conservatives live in a liberal world we know how they think. We are forced to live with it daily; it inundates our existence.

The truth is, because of their good intentions liberals (in general) hold themselves in high esteem and by their own measure expect others to do likewise. Liberals sincerely believe their altruism automatically validates their point of view. This explains why liberals take any questioning of, or opposition to their well-intended philosophy as partisan, insidious or even hateful. Feeling personally offended by expressed skepticism to their outlook, they commonly to resort to insult as a rebuttal.

Conversely conservatives agree that if good resulted from mere desire then we should all be liberals. That would be simple enough, but with history as a guide they understand that’s not how the world works. The record shows that much misery has resulted from the well intentioned empowerment of central authorities. With that knowledge they seek the betterment of mankind through less grand and more personal endeavors. That means they are far less likely to ask the government to do the good deed for them. This is something liberals typically don’t understand.
