While many are pointing fingers at the two party system as the cause of the rapid expansion of both the size and scope of government, simple logic reveals the real culprits are the career politicians.
Can anyone deny that this nation’s elected officials have over time granted themselves the power and the privilege of a ruling class? They presume to rule over us rather than on our behalf. They have used their elective offices to award themselves perks and benefits that turned what our founders intended to be selfless public service into lucrative careers. These career politicians have become the government and therefore it is natural that they view government expansion as in their best interests.
Should Americans not peacefully revolt against this new tyranny of big government? Should we not organize into a movement that has the power to remove from office the agents of oppressive regulation, confiscatory taxation, and diminished liberty? Is it time for a new American revolution; one that sweeps away the corrupting powers and privileges the career politicians have awarded themselves.
