Scott:

I think one needs to study the context of the political environment this young man is in to fully appreciate the import of what he is saying.

He exists in a totally jaded political system based on local politics, that is essentially a one party system, where it is inherently impossible to make a difference.

To make a difference one would need to challenge the status quo, in this case the Demonic, I mean Democratic political bosses of the Lehigh Valley.

He did that once and his 3 x 5 showed up on the police blotter in the Morning Crawl. I assume that was just a warning from the boss.

Since these libs cannot effect change on their own, they "Villafie" the opposing party. In psychology this is commonly called transference. It is only out of frustration that they say these things to cope with their frustration.

What is interesting to note is that the comments over time are more harsh and condemning than they had been in the past. I might ad less leeway to invite inclusive discussion. Allentown demo politics is characterized by little men who are are like school yard bullies. So this should not be a surprise.

Often who you hang around with you become.

Fear not. Increasingly I think this empty rhetoric is more indicative of an inability to debate the real issues and is born more of a need for an inner purging to quell the disquiet of the political ghost knocking on the emerging conscience of the author. Perhaps this is a good thing.

He will either come around or end up like another local Blogger indirectly referred to above.
