Common Sense
The political left is using the current crisis as an excuse to launch one of the biggest government interventions in American history. Fortunately, there are conservatives in the House and Senate who are standing up to the Liberals. It is impossible to know what will happen down the road, but conservatives must continue to remind the country that capitalism did not fail us. In fact, the roots of the crisis lie directly at the government’s feet. The free market is alive and well, and the best way out of the crisis is to embrace its tenets, not to reject them.
However, the common sense of our founding fathers seems lost to both the general public and many of our elected officials. Those who wish to expand the power of government are moving fast to lock in huge increases in federal spending while the new administration finalizes plans to nationalize huge sectors of our economy. We, who understand that the Revolution was fought for independence from both the king and the government, must now unite. Conservatives must raise a clear and strong outcry against these actions.
A political Action Committee, “Conservative Voice,” has been created here in the Lehigh Valley to be the voice and the vehicle for conservative political action.
