On November 24, the Washington Times ran an editorial with the headline: Hiding evidence of global cooling / junk science exposed among climate change believers. What we’ve all got to realize is that “green” is the new “red”. The global warming folks are nothing but a band of power hungry “statists” taking advantage of the American inclination towards personal responsibility as a means to erode American liberty and increase the size of government and the scope of its power.
If they came straight to us and asked us if we’d like to give up our liberty in favor of more power for an oppressive, controlling, patriarchal government, we’d tell them to go straight to Hell. But if they come to us lying about a global “crisis” caused by our carbon footprint and wasteful lifestyles, and suggest that we give up some of our liberty and potential for opportunity to solve the problem, many well meaning but weak minded people will go along like sheep to the slaughter of their freedom.
The “global warming” or “climate change” crisis has nothing to do with legitimate science. It is, rather, a political strategy aimed at getting us to believe that we’re all individually and collectively responsible for hurting the environment and therefore we all need to sacrifice liberty and free choices over how we live our lives. After all, those of us responsible for causing the problem should be willing to take responsibility for our part to solve the problem. “Save the planet” is like a call to arms, playing on the same American spirit that has solved and overcome problems in this country for the last two and a half centuries. The problem with the “global warming” lie is that in the 21st Century, our stewardship of the environment is the best it has ever been probably since the Iron Age. All the hype over “global warming”, “climate change”, “the environment”, and “going green” is nothing but a concerted ruse devised to turn us from a free nation into a nation of slaves to tyranny.
Unfortunately, neither our “free press” nor our elected representatives in Congress have the spine or the intellectual capacity to critically examine, let along stand up to, any of this fraudulent propaganda. Thankfully, there is one undeniable trait that essentially defines the American spirit. When institutions like government and the “fourth estate” of the so-called free press sink to pathetic levels like they have in this day, the spirit of “responsibility” in the people is stirred, awakened, and disturbed to the point of grass roots action. And as always when that happens, the people will lead…and pathetically, but predictably, the “leaders” will follow.
Because conservatives live in a liberal world we know how they think. We are forced to live with it daily; it inundates our existence.
The truth is, because of their good intentions liberals (in general) hold themselves in high esteem and by their own measure expect others to do likewise. Liberals sincerely believe their altruism automatically validates their point of view. This explains why liberals take any questioning of, or opposition to their well-intended philosophy as partisan, insidious or even hateful. Feeling personally offended by expressed skepticism to their outlook, they commonly to resort to insult as a rebuttal.
Conversely conservatives agree that if good resulted from mere desire then we should all be liberals. That would be simple enough, but with history as a guide they understand that’s not how the world works. The record shows that much misery has resulted from the well intentioned empowerment of central authorities. With that knowledge they seek the betterment of mankind through less grand and more personal endeavors. That means they are far less likely to ask the government to do the good deed for them. This is something liberals typically don’t understand.
We seem to have reached one of those times in American history where all that can go wrong in government is reaching a crescendo. In fact, if you take a step back and discern the trees from the forest you will see that we’ve come full circle in America, back to, perhaps, far worse conditions than those that inspired the revolution declared by our Founders on July 4, 1776.

This case is a prime example of how government, especially government controlled and influenced by the “left” side of America’s atrophied civic brain, always manifests itself as a hindrance to exercising our unalienable rights to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.

I make my living as a police sergeant working for a municipal police department. In my formal education as a sworn law enforcement officer, one of the first things I learned about was the Posse Comitatus Act, which generally prohibits federal military forces from being used to enforce civilian criminal law. Like many protections of law, this Act protects us as citizens from the tyrannical overreach of the federal government.
As enemy Jihadists captured on the battlefield by members of the US military are brought onto US soil to be jailed in federal prisons and tried for “criminal acts” in civilian criminal courts, has anyone considered whether this is a blatant violation of the Posse Comitatus Act? While there are several exceptions to the prohibitions of Posse Comitatus, none of them appear to be applicable to the circumstances surrounding the military capture and civilian prosecution of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the rest of the enemy combatants detained at Guantanamo. You have to ask whether those in power making these decisions are ignorant to the principles of Liberty and protections under the rule of law…or “crazy like a fox” as they continue to erode our Liberty and the protections the rule of law provides against the rule of men.
